During the Certificate IV in Disability Support you will develop the skills to provide support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a range of community settings and
peoples’ homes. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work according to and may contribute to an individualised plan, and work without direct supervision. They may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.
You might be eligible for funding through the Higher Level Skills Program.
Visit www.skillsgateway.training.qld.gov.au and talk to your teachers, VET coordinator, guidance officer and career advisor for more information on whether this might be a course you could complete after Year 11 and 12.
