The Certificate III in Sterilisation Services is a qualification you could consider if you would like to expand your skills in infection control after you become a dental assistant. This course on its own will not qualify you to be a dental assistant. Completing this course will allow you to provide sterilisation services in facilities other than dental practices. This can include hospitals, general practice clinics, health centres where endoscopy is performed, specialist centres and day surgeries.
You might be eligible for funding through the Certificate III Guarantee Program.
Visit www.skillsgateway.training.qld.gov.au and talk to your teachers, VET coordinator, guidance officer and career advisor for more information on whether this course might be suitable for you.
