The Certificate II in Community Services will give you a taste of what it might be like to work in the area of community services. You can learn about communication and health and safety. There are many electives, and three of these are an introduction to promoting healthy food, learning about mental health, and working in communities. Some organisations might offer you employment as a cadet if you have completed a Certificate II qualification, depending on your capability and the units you have completed. Talk to employers in your local area to see what might be offered. If you would like to work in community services, most employers will require you to undergo a criminal history check and working with children screening.
