A Clinical Coder assigns clinical codes to narrative descriptions of patients’ diseases, operations and procedures in accordance with recognised classification systems to allow for easy storage, retrieval and analysis of health data.

Clinical Coders can work in a variety of settings including Public and Private Hospitals, Health Departments, Health Insurance Companies, Clinical Research Institutes, Computer and information technology companies.
